Yeah, it does have that "dark knight" edge going on, doesn't it...
This is a horse from the "Gallopalooza" series in and around Louisville. The statues are designed by different artists or groups and the variety is just incredible. I walked around with the camera hunting for as many as I could find.
Welcome to my place. It's much neater here than where we actually live. Our family lives on a cranberry bog on the far West Coast, in a well-built house we've been slowly remodeling for the past 7 years.
I have just celebrated my 39th birthday for the first time. Liked it so much I may just celebrate the anniversary of said birthday from here on out. Then I will always be younger than my partner in crime, S.P., my husband of almost 15 years. In the beginning his initials stood for "Super Pharmacist", but now through the remodeling and renovations I have found his talents require more initials. He can paint, he can plaster, he can paper, he can pound nails. And of course, lest I forget, the man can PARENT! Enter the kids, sometimes called "Thing one and Thing two". Pony Girl, age nine, still loves books, horses, and us. I know someday the pre-teen angst will appear but so far, not yet. She has been tall, slim and blonde forever and no matter how much I feed her all that seems to grow is her feet. And my baby, who I guess is officially no longer that now that he's seven, is Jones. He has always been Jones, since our days in the nursery rocker. I can't explain why; guess it's just a mom-thing. We also have a fabulous Lab named Lilly, who chases balls, birds and kids and steals carrots from the horse. She no longer makes messes in the bathroom, however. My job, outside of wrangling this crew of colorful characters and keeping a passable household, is teaching. Right now I do guest stints (subbing) at the school my kids attend. I like to refer to myself and the other subs as "guest teachers" ever since a sixth-grade boy at one job told me a sub was just a massive vessel full of seamen. Since then, "guest teacher" just sounds better... There's lots of other stuff that goes on around our zoo and you'll probably hear and see about some of it sooner or later. I like to cook so there will probably be some recipes. I love to read so there will be some stuff about books. Sometimes I am opinionated and in a small town that can get a person in trouble so there may be some pissing and moaning. You just never know. I always try to be tactful and not offend, but it's a big wide world out there and somebody may not like me. O' well..
Um . . . not sure how to respond to this. It just looks wrong.

If you ever go to Yellowstone, check out the painted buffaloes all over West Yellowstone. :)
ReplyDeleteWe had various cows here in Boston for a few months. It was interesting seeing the variety.
ReplyDeleteUm...wow.
ReplyDeleteWe had giant pigs around town for a while, painted by various local artists. Some of them...uh, had fun with it.
